It’s been a hard time for a lot of us when it comes to sleeping – what with the worry about Coronavirus and the annoyingly HOT temperatures So I thought that this week I would talk about how to deal with Insomnia and get sleep when you are having trouble sleeping.
DO A BRAIN DUMP BEFORE YOU GET INTO BED – DETOX YOUR MIND OF WORRY.
If you find yourself lying awake at night, with your mind full to the brim with worry, it might be worth a shot to do a brain dump every evening, before sliding into the bedsheets.
Get a journal and write down all of the things that are worrying you. Let it all out and then give yourself permission to let things go until morning. This will help you to get things down on paper, and tells your mind that it doesn’t have to immediately deal with things.
CREATE A BEDTIME ROUTINE THAT LEAVES YOU FEELING SLEEPY…
Chamomile tea, a warm bath with Lavender, and not using electronic devices for an hour before bed are talked about so much for a reason – they work!
Give yourself an hour to wind down before getting to bed in the evening and other suggestions include warm milk, a clean and well made bed, decluttering your bedroom for space and clarity, and a bedtime meditation.
TAKE NOTICE IF YOUR DREAMS ARE WAKING YOU – MAYBE YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT THEM.
If you find that you keep waking because you are having strange dreams at the moment, to some extent that is pretty normal. There’s a lot going on for our brains to process right now so going back to step one and doing a brain dump could be a really great way to deal with this. However, if it something deeper, keep a journal and make a note of your dreams, and if you see a pattern, it might be time to talk about things.
Book a clarity call with me and let’s talk about what might be keeping you stuck subconsciously.
i HOPE THAT THIS HELPS, AND AS ALWAYS, I AM ALWAYS HERE IF YOU WANT TO TALK TO ME. I AM CURRENTLY BACK IN THE OFFICE ON HARLEY STREET, SO IF YOU HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BOOKING IN FOR A SESSION WITH ME, BOOK A CALL TO DO SO.
Speak to you next week, and have a great one!
Chris.
