I’m Christopher Paul Jones

Harley Street’s Fear, Phobia and Anxiety Specialist

For more than 20 years, I’ve helped people change the way they respond to fear, anxiety and phobias, from flying and public speaking to fears that have affected their lives for years.

Bestselling author and speaker on fear, anxiety and psychological change.

My clients come from all over the world and have included Hollywood actors and Oscar nominees, musicians, models, presenters and other people in the public eye.

My work has also been featured extensively across national and international television, radio and the press, including the BBC, Channel 4, Canada’s CBC, Hello!, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and national newspapers.

A Different Approach to Fear and Phobias

I’ve never believed that one technique works for everyone.

Over more than two decades, I’ve trained in a wide range of approaches to
psychological and behavioural change across Europe, North America and Asia.
Over the years, I also saw people trying to overcome fear by analysing it, avoiding it or forcing themselves through situations, while the underlying response remained unchanged. That made me increasingly interested in what needed to change for the fear itself to respond differently.

That experience led me to develop The Integrated Change SystemTM, a step-by-step framework for change that is flexible to the individual.

I Know What It’s Like to Live With Fear

My interest in this work is personal.

I once struggled with social anxiety and fears around public speaking, flying and insects. My fear of public speaking began as a teenager after being made to stand up and read in front of the class. Years later, I developed an extreme fear of flying following a near-fatal incident involving a helicopter. So I know what it feels like when one part of your mind is telling you that you should be fine, while another part reacts as though the danger is very real.

My journey into this work started with looking for solutions for myself. As I began finding approaches that helped me change my own fears, I became fascinated by why they worked and how they could help other people too. Over time, that journey led me to build the practice I have today.

Those experiences have also shaped the way I work with people. I take what you’re experiencing seriously, while bringing energy, curiosity and humour into the process where appropriate. The process doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating to create meaningful change.

Today, I work from Harley Street in London and with clients around the world, helping people understand their fear differently and discover how much can change when the old response no longer has the same hold over them.

Outside of work, freedom remains a pretty important theme in my life. You’ll usually find me spending time with my family in London or exploring the countryside with my dog, Mini.

Face Your Fears

I’m also the bestselling author of Face Your Fears, which explores how fear develops, why it can become so persistent, and practical ways to begin changing the patterns that keep it in place.

Training and Professional Development

Over the years, my training and professional development have drawn on a wide range of therapeutic, behavioural and change approaches, including:

  • Contemporary Psychotherapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Clinical Hypnotherapy

  • NLP, Master Practitioner and Trainer

  • Emotional and somatic approaches, including EFT and TFT

  • Mindfulness-based approaches

  • EMDR and Brainspotting

And a range of other approaches to psychological and behavioural change.

This breadth of training has helped shape, and continues to develop, the work I do today.
