I have noticed a change in the way that my fear of flying clients are feeling about flying. Has the pandemic changed the way that we feel about flying, or has it given you a fear of flying? And if so, how so – grab a cuppa and let’s talk about it.

THE FEAR HAS SPREAD BEYOND A FEAR OF FLYING.

The fear is now about catching the virus whilst flying. People who have never ever in their life had an issue with flying are now dreading getting on an aeroplane. And clients who had got a grip on their fear of flying, are now lying awake at night drenched with fear again. Of course, this also works both ways, and some people who once had a fear of flying, are still looking forward to booking their next holiday.

What can we do about this? Well there are practical things that we can do, before boarding the aircraft, such as wearing a mask, using a good hand sanitiser, and checking your airlines policy about onboard social distancing. One thing that I would say right now is that your fear is actually LOGICAL. Often, when I talk about a fear of flying we are talking about something illogical…  but this is different, so first of all, reassure yourself that worrying is normal. Then, make a decision based upon whether flying is essential. Only YOU can decide whether to fly right now but I am of course here to help you. Book a free clarity call with me and I can discuss how I can help you with a one to one session.

WE ARE DEALING WITH THE LOGICAL AS OPPOSED TO THE ILLOGICAL. YOUR FEAR IS BASED ON REALITY.

As I touched upon above, usually, when I talk to people about their fear of flying, we are talking about a fear  that is NOT based on logic. However, when it comes to the fears that seem to be running high during the pandemic, those fears ARE based on logic. People fear catching the virus – and there is nothing that I can say that will prove that that fear is irrational, because it isn’t.

What can we do about this? If you have made the choice to fly, then I can work with you on your anxiety surrounding your fear. I can do this via a one to one session with you, book your free clarity call here so that I can discuss this with you further. If you really do not need to fly, and are nervous about doing it right now then the obvious answer would be to postpone flying until we know more about the future with this virus.

ORIGINAL PHOBIAS THAT HAD BEEN WORKED ON MAY SUDDENLY RE-APPEAR.

How frustrating – you put the work in, your bought your BREAKTHROUGH YOUR FEAR OF FLYING KIT, you had your one to one session with me, everything seemed to be ‘better’ and then all of a sudden the virus has set you off feeling anxious about flying again. WHY would this happen? Well, there has been a lot of talk in the media about people being scared to fly right now and this will speak to your subconscious mind and trigger things for you.

What can we do about this? I would say don’t convince yourself that flying is dangerous. Be in the drivers seat with this, stay on the ball – just knowing that your subconscious mind might be triggered keeps you one step ahead of things. You do not need to allow this to spiral, book a session with me and let’s nip things in the bud. Book your clarity call here.

My main advice would be that whilst the thought of flying at the moment may feel scary, there are things that you can do to reduce your anxiety. Practical things like I suggested in my first point, and mindset work that you can do, such as the BREAKTHROUGH YOUR FEAR OF FLYING kit. I have a special discount code for you to use for the next 48 hours which will give you a 50% discount… LOCKDOWN50 is the code to enter at the checkout. Get your kit here >

Until the next time, have a great week,

Chris. 🙂
