Halloween Is Here, and for most of us, that means it’s time to party! But for some of us, Halloween can leave us filled with dread and fear. Halloween Phobias or a deep-rooted fear of Halloween can really mind-controlling, with the shops being filled with Halloween themed goodies everywhere.

So what IS a Halloween Phobia, and how can you get rid of one? Well, there are many kinds of phobias that would be classed as a Halloween Phobia, and here are some of them:

  • Fear of blood: Hemophobia. …
  • Fear of snakes: Ophidiophobia.
  • Fear of spidersArachnophobia. …

I am sure you can think of others to add to this list, so as you can see, the list is endless. And some of the phobias, such as a fear of spiders, or spider phobia, can become all-consuming when the calendar turns to October. Signs That Your Fear May Actually Be A Phobia.

You will find yourself experiencing fear at a very high, uncomfortable level. You may find yourself:

  • Unable to breathe at the sight of the thing that scares you.
  • Panicking and obsessing about seeing that thing and doing your best to avoid it.
  • Being controlled by your fear, almost as if it is holding a gun to you.
  • Limiting life experiences, cancelling social events, as a way to avoid experiencing your fear.

Phobias can be debilitating, leaving you unable to sleep at night, with palpitations, sweaty palms, and a tight restricted feeling in your throat. A Phobia is something that you fear like your life depends upon it.

So What Can You Do If You Have A Halloween Phobia?

The first piece of advice that I want to give, is that phobias are easily treatable, and you can speak to me for a free consultation over the telephone here if you would like to be free from your phobia. It’s 2020, and nobody needs to suffer from a phobia.

The second thing that I would say, is to get see if you can ask someone else to do your weekend shopping for you, and then settle yourself in for the night, almost oblivious to the fact that it is Halloween. Stock up on all of your favourite comfort foods, make sure that you have your favourite feel-good movie to hand and ask a friend to call you or be on standby to talk to if you feel that the evening becomes too much for you.

Avoid TV where possible as you never know what might pop up for you, just protect yourself in an emotionally protective bubble and ignore what is going on around you.

Then, to be sure that you do not keep going through this, decide to tackle your Halloween Phobia so that next Halloween doesn’t have to be a problem for you.
