Hello, it’s me, Christopher, and today i am feeling energised and I wanted to pass a little bit onto you. I know that being ‘stuck’ in lockdown can feel kinda … boring, and dull, and long, and tedious…

 

It feels neverending, and there just does not seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel..

I totally and utterly get that. But today, I want you to step back away from the ‘doom’s little and think about the words that you are using right now – the words that you use on a daily basis, because these words are IMPORTANT. 

 

THE WORDS THAT YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR DAY ARE POWERFUL. 

 

Your words are extremely powerful. They can create a good day or they can create a bad day. Seriously – if you call yourself ‘fat’ for example, multiple times on a daily basis, in the space of a month your mind will BELIEVE IT. 

 


Your subconscious mind will take it as true and will do everything that it needs to to make you a fat person. It will guide you towards bad food choices, and it will control the way that you feel about yourself. 

 

So think about the words you use in lockdown – if you tell yourself a hundred times a day that you are bored or you ‘cannot do this’ then your mind will start to fixate on that.

 

And tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that, you will find yourself, like a self fulfilling prophecy adapting to fit that. Because you are PROGRAMMING YOURSELF to be bored.. Or depressed… or fed up.. Or whatever it is that you are telling yourself repeatedly.

CHOOSE YOUR WORDS WISELY AND CREATE A NEW REALITY.

 

Think about how you would LIKE to be feeling. Yes, at first this may feel a little airy fairy, and a bit vague… and when you are feeling negative it can be hard to shift your mindset to even come up with the words in the first place!

 

Totally get that.

 

But if you want things to change for you, you have to put in the effort. Just like if you want to drop that dress size, you have to get your butt off the sofa.

 

So, decide your word, just one word will do it, and decide that that is how you will start feeling. Change your boredom into curiosity…. I am curious… I am curious about what I can find to do today.

 

I am curious about learning a new language… Japanese has always appealed to me… or, I am curious about how the French cook their chicken, let’s try out a new recipe… I am curious about what it would feel like to try something new for breakfast..

 

The thing that you choose to be curious about, can be of any kind of variety – it could be something big, like learning a language, or something smaller, something that you do just for one day….

 

But what matters is that you pay attention to the way that you talk to yourself and make a conscious choice to change things. YOU are in control of your feelings and YOU get to choose how you feel today…

 

And tomorrow.. 

 

And that day after that…

 

Changing the way that you feel, doesn’t have to be difficult, it can be as simple as choosing a word for the day.

OTHER EXAMPLES COULD BE CHANGE DOWN TO OPEN.. ‘I AM DOWN’ BECOMES ‘I OPEN…’, I AM OPEN TO GOING FOR THAT WALK, I AM OPEN TO STARTING A NEW PAINTING ETC..

I am sure you can think of many examples, and the idea is, to find a word that speaks directly to you, something that you connect with is more likely to make a difference.
