So, it’s one week into 2020, and everyone is back at work already – it’s goodbye mince pies and prosecco, and hello stress and anxiety.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. In this weeks blog post I am going to give you my best top 5 tips on how to make 2020 a stress free year.

1. REDEFINE WHAT STRESS ACTUALLY MEANS TO YOU.

The first thing that I would say when looking to reduce stress levels is to redefine what stress means to you. How many people do you know who walk around the office, constantly moaning about how stressed they are? It’s raining.. they’re stressed. The coffee machine isn’t working properly…. they’re soooooo stressed. Think about the language that you are using and ask yourself if you are being realistic, or are you just so used to throwing the phrase around, when yes, you might be a bit peeved about something but is that the same as being stressed?

2. PENCIL IN SOME SELF CARE TIME THROUGHOUT YOUR DAY.

Gone are the days when this was seen as being woo, or hippyish. Finding some you time is actually essential, and gives you the chance to recoup and regenerate your energy. Finding time throughout your day, even if you are busy at work, can actually make you MORE productive. Try and take a 5 minute break every hour if possible, even if you just sit in silence and meditate – connect to YOU again, and don’t feel guilty about it. It actually gives back MORE to the people around you.

3. NIP STRESS IN THE BUD BEFORE IT GETS THE BETTER OF YOU.

As soon as you notice yourself getting stressed, nip it in the bud before it gets the better of you. What I mean by this is, sit down and journal, let it all out on paper, and then think about what advice you would give to somebody else if they came to you and told you that they were struggling with some of those issues. Often we are resistant to helping ourselves because of things going on subconsciously but if we are approached by a friend going through something similar, we turn into the Dalai Lama! Go Dalai Lama on your own issues and unleash your inner guru.

4. TURN DOWN YOUR STRESS LEVELS BY USING THIS SIMPLE METHOD.

Imagine your stress as having a number attached to it – from 0-10 with 10 being the loudest – and then literally turn down the volume on your inner chitter chatter. YoU can visualise your head as having a volume dial on it if that helps you to do this. Think of a number where the stress level turns to calmness for you and then turn that dial all the way down to there, at a speed that feels right for you.

5. CREATE A ROUTINE THAT KEEPS THINGS BALANCED FOR YOU.

Sometimes we can find that things become stressful because we are not eating a balanced diet, or perhaps not sleeping properly. I KNOW, I KNOW, it can sound so obvious, but it’s what a Dr would ask you, if you went to them to say that you were depressed, stressed or anxious, Make sure that you are hydrated too and getting regular exercise.

Of course, if things still do not get any better for you then by all means, contact me for a clarity call session so that I can assess what is going on for you on a deeper level, as sometimes, it can be that something has affected you on a deeper level, and is being repressed subconsciously. I can get to the bottom of that.

And, I have also put together this really great ‘INSTANTLY CALM TOOL KIT’ which you can buy today for just 7 British Pounds. That’s a bargain! Find out more about it here.

Until next week, take care of YOU, be a bit kinder to yourself and I will speak to you soon!

Chris.
