You open your eyes, hit the snooze button (again) and curse to yourself about it being Monday. The Monday morning blues, the dread of Monday.. we have had it ingrained in us since we were little. I want to change that for you – here is how to make Monday morning the highlight of your week!
1. CREATE A MONDAY MORNING RITUAL THAT REALLY GETS YOU GOING.
When you do your weekend shop, be sure to get something that you really look forward to for breakfast. If your usual is ceral, make Monday morning all about a full English, or croissants and fresh coffee. Really treat yourself, and make a breakfast like you would if say, it were Christmas. You could even have a glass of Bucks Fizz, and why not saunter down to the breakfast table in a white dressing gown and sunglasses?
Don’t have a breakfast table, now is the time to get one. Or clear the junk of your current table and make it a place to ENJOY living. And if you find yourself stood in the supermarket thinking ‘I can’t really justify smoked salmon and chocolate mousse for breakfast’ think again. You can, and you will – ENJOY IT.
2. WEAR YOUR CHRISTMAS OUTFIT ON A MONDAY.
Okay, I don’t mean your Father Christmas jumper and those snowman socks off Auntie, but we all have that vibe going on at Christmas where we dress up to feel amazing. That is what I am talking about – get that dress out of the back of the wardrobe, get that jacket out, and stop saving things for one day a year – wear them every Monday! Give Monday the status of being ‘best day of the week’ and watch everything change for you, as it all just comes down to your mindset.
3. MONDAY NIGHT IS DATE NIGHT – WITH YOURSELF.
Save that film on Netflix, order your favourite take-out, get the bottle of Prosecco in – whatever you associate with date night, I want Monday nights to be it, but this is about spending time with YOU.
Really make Mondays a day for YOU, and make it so wonderful that you find it hard to sleep on Sunday through excitement.
Life has certainly been challenging for us over these last six months, and it can become easy to get stuck in a rut, especially if you are working from home at the moment. I think that we could all do with a little excitement added to our lifestyle, because right now, if we want to feel happier, we have to create our own happiness.
I hope that this post inspires you on this Monday morning, it’s not too late to plan date night for tonight and then make a note in your planner that next week, Monday is going to be DIFFERENT 🙂
Speak to you next week
Chris.
